Have we ever thought that going to a church fellowship that is evangelical (meaning that faithfully speaks of Christ as the only way to salvation), a fellowship that is Christ-exalting, Gospel-focusing, and God- glorifying, would already make us a genuine child of God? But while GENUINE RELATIONSHIP with Jesus is our ONLY WAY to salvation, GENUINE RELIGION proves the REALITY of our salvation. James teaches us essential commands or principles that mark the true and acceptable religion. The true and acceptable religion before the sight of our God is a religion that practices the CONTROL of your TONGUE; a religion that CONSIDERS the TRIED ones, esp. the needy brethren; and a religion that is true and acceptable is a religion that CONSECRATES the TOTALITY, the whole being of man all the days of his life.
